My name is Francesca Nicoletti. I am the creator and author of TheCoutureCritique, a fashion, culture, and lifestyle blog that discusses a variety of topics that not only touch on style and clothing, but the business and culture matters of fashion. I am a 2nd year student at New York University studying Fashion Business with a concentration in Luxury Retail Merchandising and Marketing. My love for this industry began when I sewed a pocket at the age of 13. Something so little transformed into a deep adoration for the craftsmanship, art, and storytelling behind articles of clothing. From then on, I have dabbled in fashion design, creating a dress for my high school fashion show. I also worked in the Children’s and Women’s Indie Department of Nordstrom, where I learned how to succeed in customer service, brand analytics, and styling. Women's Indie is where I built a client base and styled women for special occasions, trips, and designed their capsule wardrobes for them to feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. In between was the birth of TheCoutureCritique, previously named Francesca Rose’s Fashion, Culture, and Lifestyle Blog. During my first years of high school, I was consumed by writing about fashion, not only on Ready-To-Wear or Haute Couture Collections, but the business factors behind the industry such as the concepts of merchandising and marketing within fashion houses. During my senior year, I took on serving as a Chair for our fashion show, where I drafted the concepts of the showcase, planned and perfected every single segment, and worked with small local boutiques to advertise their clothing to our community. For the last 6 months of my senior year of high school, I put my heart and soul into this show that ended up raising over 300,000 dollars for tuition assistance, all while continuing to write for my blog. I have pretty much done it all! The CoutureCritique is a blog where I can freely share my love for fashion, business, styling, merchandising, marketing, along with several other sectors of the industry. As a full-time student, I plan on forwarding my career by continuing my blog, connecting with the people and the experts, and learning more everyday on the different and extravagant aspects of the fashion business and styling industry across the world.
